One thing I really feel the lacking of is the disappearance of low-key lighting and amount of darkness in contemporary cinema. In today’s films everything is properly lit and noticeable. There is no room for imagination and audience’s brain can’t work with the images as they watch the film. It contributes to nothing except laziness and being inactive mentally and physically. Hollywood’s Golden Age is the ultimate example of this brilliant type of imagery!
