Description

Homo Sapiens Project (201) is the largest of these monuments and the furthest reach of the project’s logic — a single work drawn together from an entire hoard of images, cinema turning back to consume and recompose its own accumulated past. Duration here passes beyond spectacle into something nearer to dwelling: an expanse so extended that it can no longer be watched from outside but must be entered, until the distinction between the film and the time of one’s own life begins to fail. It does not advance so much as circle, each passage folding into the one before, so that beginning and end lose their hold. What emerges is a totality without summary — a world made entirely of seeing, immense and self-enclosed, that asks not to be understood but to be borne, and remains, in the end, larger than any single act of attention can contain.

The largest of the Homo Sapiens Project’s standalone works, drawn together across two decades (2002–2021) — some nineteen hours of continuous duration.
